I'm one of many survivors. My life has been touched by mental illness. I often express that this means I'm just like everybody else. Everyone has someone in their life with a brain disorder - a parent, a child, a spouse, a co-worker. I hope that my experiences living with my own mild mood disorder and the brain disorders of my son, father and uncle will help you to cope with the struggles that you face.
Unfortunately.. this is VERY true. Our nephew had two difficult tours. It took a great deal of TLC and understanding.. and getting him TO the counselors to bring him to a place of peace. The further he gets away from it.. the better he is!
We really need to quit giving it a big name.. and just simplify. They are SHELL-SHOCKED. And, need HELP. I don't know why folks feel the need to put a long name on disorders. That in itself.. does NOT help the situation.
No easy answer for these Vets either. So many do NOT have protective families to guide them. The smaller our world gets.. the larger the gap within our families grows. SAD.

There was lots of coverage this week. It is a terrible byproduct of the war.
